These are our new buckwheat cupcakes. You ask why would anyone want buckwheat in their cupcakes? Well it is simple because these cupcakes are absolutely fluffy and scruptious and they are gluten free.
Buckwheat is one of the great grains that gives a good rise and a great flavour for a gluten free option. The buckwheat add a slightly earthy tone and is actually a more flavoursome sponge than plain wheat flour sponge. But when you top it with frosting, you will not be able to tell a difference. We top these cupcakes with buttercream or Ganche as per your preference.
Please note whilst these are gluten free, they are not suitable for people with coelic disease, as we use wheat (gluten) and rye (gluten) flour in the kitchen.
However, they are great for people who conciously are trying to reduce the amount of gluten they have in their diet.
If you want to try to make your own, please see my recipe here for gluten free carrot muffins. However, if you are out of time and need them quick, you can go ahead and place the order online now.
